
About Us
Spiccata Strings is a strings group in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario that provide live performances as duos for weddings and other events in Southwestern Ontario. These duos consist of two music performance students and/or graduates from Wilfrid Laurier University who specialize in classical and pop and make arrangements on request. These skilled artists have performed together for more than six years, average almost 14 years of experience, and are ready to provide quality music for wedding festivities.

Delaney Dam - Founder, Administrator, Violinist
Delaney is a violinist of 12 years and is a recent graduate receiving her Honours Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University and continuing post-graduate studies there. Delaney is the founder and administrator is Spiccata Strings as well as a violinist. She completed the strings program at her high school where she consistently received the highest mark in her class and the status of a Peer Music Tutor. She has also played in numerous orchestras, symphonies, and chamber ensembles at school and within the community. Delaney is now teaching private lessons for voice and violin and in the future, she hopes to pursue a career in music performance and education.

Leah Mezo-Willingham - Cellist
Leah is a cellist of 16 years in her second year studying cello at Wilfrid Laurier University for music. She has consistently been in ensembles and orchestras as well as participated in and won numerous scholarships during her consecutive years competing in the Kiwanis Music Festival. Leah is a proud long-standing member of Spiccata Strings and she also currently plays in the Laurier Symphony Orchestra as well as her string quartet. As a natural musician, Leah has also been playing piano for 13 years, has taught cello at a music camp, and is always keen to perform.

Kaitlynn Cook - Violinist
Kaitlynn began her career as a violinist at age 12 where her studies quickly developed into a passion for creating and sharing music. Throughout her high school years, she participated in orchestral and chamber groups, the fiddle group, and her string quartet. Outside of school, she played in the KWS Youth Orchestra for 3 years and was a pit orchestra musician for Penny & Pound Theatre Company. She is now in her third year at Wilfrid Laurier University studying violin performance with Dr. Jeremy Bell. Aside from Spiccata Strings, currently Kaitlynn is a member of the Laurier Symphony Orchestra, plays for premiere performances for the works of Justin Lapierre, plays with her string quartet KIKM, and is a frequent understudy for the Stratford Orchestra

Hazel Miller - Violinist
Hazel Millar is a fourth-year student at Wilfrid Laurier University studying violin performance. She is a skilled violinist of 16 years and has a wealthy of experience in symphonies, orchestra and chamber groups. Currently, Hazel is a member of the Miltion Philharmonic Orchestra, Brampton Rose Orchestra, Laurier Symphony Orchestra as well as the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra. Hazel has a passion for playing in small groups and is in a chamber quartet as well as Spiccata Strings. Hazel is also a violin teacher and has participated and performed in festivals internationally.
